It's that time in the build that we need to start sorting the seating position and the next part is to work out how we build the cockpit. We have decided that adjustable clip on handle bars is the way to go, that way we can fine tune everything to get the ultimate riding position for comfort. We took the Race engine up to the dyno and gave it a good thrashing, made 30bhp at the rear wheel so should be a flyer on the road.

Thrashed within an inch of its life, the GRP6 TS1 heat seized. Can we salvage the barrel or will it have to be re-plated?

The seat is proving tricky to get right, however we make a breakthrough by agreeing the type of petrol tank we want fitted and then dry building the scooter. We wanted a Lambretta Side stand for the cutdown project and saw this at Mersea scooter rally. After a bit of a chat with Dom we ordered one from John at Scooter Loopy. We got invited to the LCGB road sprint and came third overall! 77mph over the 1/8th of a mile is not bad for a road going lambretta.

The fastest Lambretta and Vespa racers in Europe! The fast boys are as quick on a lambretta as a TZ250 would go round this track. Very impressive.

For those of you that watched the cheap engine build, well at last I have put it into a frame and tried to start it. Ultimately it will go do Al Diablo and be put on his dyno to see what numbers we are making with this engine. The old engine that I have taken out is around 32bhp and is ultra reliable and was built 8 years ago now in 2014. It did 2 full seasons of sprinting over the 1/4 mile with no breakdowns, and loads of road miles to scooter rallies. This new engine has allot to live up to.
